The Machine printed passports issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India can enable speedy passage of passengers at airports and other border control areas. This can be achieved by installting passport readers at these border control locations.

If such readers are installed, then the border control officers do not have to key in the passenger data from the machine printed and machine readable travel documents - the data can be scanned straight from the document by appropriate readers.

WESRA has written the software that is used with such readers installed at Indian international airports. The readers are manufactured by "3M Corporation" and they work with WESRA software.
